Ozekhome's SAN Rank Suspended Amid Legal Troubles

The Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC) has suspended Chief Mike Ozekhome's rank as Senior Advocate of Nigeria pending the outcome of disciplinary proceedings against him. This decision was made during the LPPC's 173rd general meeting held on June 23, 2026, and was communicated in a statement signed by Kabir Akanbi, the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court.

The suspension aims to safeguard the integrity and dignity of the Senior Advocate rank while the matter is under review. Ozekhome is facing serious legal troubles, including allegations of fraud and forgery linked to a property dispute at 79 Randal Avenue, Neasden, London.

The case has drawn significant attention, with the UK First Tier Property Tribunal dismissing Ozekhome's claims and finding evidence of fraud. Additionally, in March, the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered the final forfeiture of the London property to the federal government, as no claimant successfully established ownership.
