LSPWC Maintains Lagos Roads Amid Heavy Rainfall Challenges

Engr. Tokunbo Ajanaku, the General Manager of the Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC), has reiterated the agency's dedication to maintaining Lagos roads amid ongoing heavy rainfall that has adversely affected road infrastructure.

He acknowledged that this year's rainfall has created significant operational challenges, leading to accelerated road deterioration and complicating permanent asphalt repairs. Ajanaku stated that the current weather necessitates a shift in maintenance strategy, focusing on emergency responses and temporary repairs until conditions improve.

He highlighted that LSPWC has been active across all 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas in Lagos, performing various maintenance tasks, including sectional overlays on key roads like Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue and Ikorodu Road. He also noted the support from Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Dr.

Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, emphasizing the importance of funding and inter-agency collaboration in addressing the challenges posed by extreme weather.
