Nwabueze Defends Made-in-Nigeria Project Against ICPC Claims

George Nwabueze, the National Coordinator and Executive Director of the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, refuted claims by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) that the office operates as a fake federal agency. He stated that the project has been in existence since 2010 and is not classified as a federal agency.

Nwabueze provided historical context, sharing a letter dated July 19, 2010, from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) that acknowledged a proposal for a "Made in Naija" project in Ireland. He emphasized the project's longstanding ties to the OSGF and criticized the notion that it was a recent development.

Additionally, he shared an appointment letter dated October 3, 2025, confirming his role as National Coordinator, which was signed by Nadungu Gagare, the Permanent Secretary of the Political and Economic Affairs Office.
