SGF Officials Accuse Directors of Misleading ICPC

An internal disagreement involving George Nwabueze, the promoter of the National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office, and certain directors in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has sparked controversy over the project's status. Officials from the OSGF claimed that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) was misled into considering the initiative as an unauthorized agency.

The conflict reportedly led to a petition to the ICPC, labeling the project office as fake. ICPC Chairman Dr Musa Aliyu stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ordered the arrest and prosecution of Nwabueze, along with the suspension of three Permanent Secretaries: MS Danjuma, Nandungu Gagare, and Richard Pheelangwa.

However, a source within the ICPC indicated that no arrests had occurred following the President's directive, and Nwabueze was not in custody.
