Super Falcons Squad Named for WAFCON 2026 in Morocco

Justin Madugu, the head coach of the Super Falcons, has announced a 25-player squad for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2026, which will be held in Morocco from July 25 to August 16, 2026. The squad aims to defend Nigeria's title as the ten-time champions of African women's football.

Notable players selected include captain Asisat Oshoala from Al Hilal and Rasheedat Ajibade from Paris Saint-Germain. The squad also features goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozi and established stars like Michel Alozi.

However, veteran forward Francisca Ordega is a notable absentee. The team is composed of a blend of experienced internationals and emerging talents, with the goal of extending Nigeria's dominance in African women's football, having previously won titles in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2018, and most recently in 2024.
