Sikiru Bayo Titilola Sodo Resigns to Run for Oyo Governor

Sikiru Bayo Titilola Sodo has officially resigned from his position as Special Adviser on Labour Matters to Governor Seyi Makinde to pursue the governorship position of Oyo State in the 2027 general elections. His resignation was announced in a statement from his team, which indicated that the decision followed a consensus within the Action Alliance party, which has adopted him as its flag bearer.

Sodo expressed gratitude to Governor Makinde for the opportunity to serve, describing his appointment as a privilege. He emphasized his commitment to principles of integrity, transparency, and democratic participation, stating that he will devote his full attention to campaigning across Oyo State.

Sodo, a former labour leader, has a background in public service, having served in various capacities, including as the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Oyo State. He aims to lead Oyo State towards infrastructural development, industrialization, and job creation while ensuring equitable distribution of development projects across the state's geopolitical zones.
