Makkah Grand Mosque Muezzin Sheikh Al-Madani Passes Away

Sheikh Ibrahim bin Adel Hamza Al-Madani, a muezzin of the Makkah Grand Mosque (Masjid Al-Haram), died following his final Adhan on Monday, 11 Rabi Al-Awwal 1448. The announcement was made by the ‘Inside the Haramain’ X account.

Al-Madani was appointed to serve at Masjid Al-Haram in 1439 AH (2017–2018). His funeral prayer will occur after the ‘Asr prayer on Monday at Masjid Al-Haram, with burial at Al-Mu‘alla Cemetery.

Born in Madinah in 1397 AH (1976), Al-Madani grew up in a religious family and began calling the Adhan at age 15. He served at a neighborhood mosque before returning to the role in 1428 AH (2007–2008) at Masjid Al-Maddah, eventually being appointed to Masjid Al-Haram.

His upbringing in Madinah influenced his style of Adhan, and he held an academic qualification in Qur’anic Studies.
