Nigerian Man Seeks Help After Sister Disappears in Qatar

On September 4, 2026, Jonathan Jibo, a Nigerian man, alerted the public via X about his 37-year-old sister's disappearance after she landed at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar. She had traveled on Qatar Airways flight QR 1408 and was last in contact with Jonathan while in the air, using onboard Wi-Fi.

A family friend was waiting for her at the airport but reported no sighting of her. When Jonathan inquired at the airline's desk, staff confirmed she had collected her baggage but had not contacted anyone.

His sister had extensive experience, having worked nearly 12 years at Lagos' Murtala Muhammed International Airport, and had made all arrangements for her trip to Qatar independently. Jonathan instructed the agent to file a formal report with authorities and requested access to airport CCTV footage.

He also attempted to contact the Nigerian Embassy in Doha for assistance. He shared her photos and flight details on social media to widen the search.
