Nigerian Woman Missing After Arriving in Doha from Lagos

A 37-year-old Nigerian woman has been reported unreachable days after arriving in Doha on Qatar Airways flight QR1408 from Lagos International Airport on Tuesday. Her brother, Jonathan Jibo, stated that the family last communicated with her via WhatsApp while she was still on the aircraft, utilizing the flight's Wi-Fi.

Upon landing in Doha, a designated person was waiting to pick her up, but she did not meet them. The family then contacted the airport desk and the airline, which confirmed that she had collected her luggage.

Jibo expressed concern over her disappearance, noting that she is experienced with airport procedures, having worked at Lagos Airport for nearly 12 years. This was her first trip abroad, and she had no acquaintances in Qatar.

She had made accommodation arrangements months in advance and was expected to start work in Doha weeks after her arrival. Jibo tagged Michael Achimugu, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), in his post on X.
