Ibrahim Augustine Arrested for Stabbing Neighbor Over Meat

Ibrahim Augustine, a 28-year-old man, has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly stabbing his 21-year-old neighbor, Haggai Markus, to death. The incident occurred on November 4, 2026, around 8pm in Mararaban Vimtim, Mubi North Local Government Area, following a disagreement over roasted meat taken from a butcher's table.

During the altercation, Augustine reportedly used a knife to stab Markus in the chest. The incident was reported to the police at approximately 8:45pm by Markus Gabo, the father of the deceased.

Police operatives from the Mubi North Division responded to the scene, where they found Markus deceased in a pool of blood. A sharp knife was recovered as evidence, and Augustine was taken into custody.

The victim's body was transported to the Federal Medical Centre, Mubi, where a doctor confirmed his death. The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.

Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Hassan, expressed condolences to the family and urged peaceful conflict resolution.
