Manchester United Signs Carlos Baleba for £70 Million

Manchester United has finalized the signing of Cameroon midfielder Carlos Baleba from Brighton & Hove Albion for a total fee of £70 million, which includes an initial payment of £65 million and an additional £5 million in performance-related add-ons. Baleba has signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford, with an option for a sixth year.

He expressed his enthusiasm about joining Manchester United, stating it is a dream come true and that he looks forward to working with manager Michael Carrick. Baleba, who joined Brighton from Lille in 2023, made 112 appearances for the Seagulls, scoring four goals, and played 31 Premier League matches last season.

He is currently recovering from an ankle injury sustained during Brighton's pre-season training in Austria, which may delay his debut. This signing brings Manchester United's summer spending to £153 million as they prepare for a return to the Champions League.
