ACF Urges Transparent Management of Security Fund

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) called on the 19 northern state governors to ensure the transparent management of the newly established Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund. In a statement issued on Friday by ACF Chairman Bashir Dalhatu, the forum praised the governors for setting up the fund, emphasizing that transparency will be crucial for its overall success.

The ACF insisted that the long-suffering people of northern Nigeria deserve peace and urged governors to avoid political interference in managing the fund. The initiative is designed to mobilize additional resources to support the fight against terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping, which have severely disrupted economic activities and caused hardship in the region.

The ACF expressed confidence that properly managed funds could strengthen intelligence gathering, surveillance, and community security programs. The Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund is set to be inaugurated on Tuesday at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna during a meeting of the northern state governors and senior security officials.
