ACF Backs Northern Security Trust Fund to Combat Insecurity

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has expressed its support for the Northern Governors Forum's establishment of the Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund, describing it as a landmark initiative aimed at strengthening efforts against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and violent crime across the region. Dalhatu, the forum emphasized that addressing insecurity requires collective action and innovative, sustainable commitment alongside the efforts of federal government security agencies. The ACF noted the severe violence in Northern Nigeria in recent years, which has disrupted agriculture, commerce, and peaceful coexistence.

They expressed confidence that the trust fund would provide additional resources to enhance intelligence gathering, surveillance, logistics, and community-driven security operations. The forum congratulated the members of the trust fund's board and urged Northern governors to maintain political will to ensure the fund remains focused on its core objectives of restoring peace, protecting lives, and creating an environment conducive to development.
