Darren Fletcher, the Under-18s coach for Manchester United, publicly confronted a fan who directed abuse at him outside Old Trafford after Manchester United's 4-0 Champions League victory over Azerbaijani side Sabah. Following the match, a group of supporters remained to collect autographs and photographs as the United squad boarded their team bus.

Fletcher had already obliged several fans, but as the crowd grew, he was unable to reach everyone. When a frustrated supporter shouted at him, Fletcher turned to confront the individual directly, which drew cheers from other Manchester United supporters nearby.

A video of the incident was shared on X, with comments noting how Fletcher "put a fan in his place." Fletcher is recognized as a club legend, having made 342 appearances and scored 24 goals during his playing career, winning five titles under Sir Alex Ferguson and being part of the Champions League-winning squad. He joined the United coaching structure in 2020 and has served in various roles, including interim manager for two matches last season.
