Manchester United Eyes Barcelona's Balde Amid Transfer Talks

Manchester United's need for a left-back intensified following their opening-day defeat to Hull City. The club's interest in Barcelona defender Balde has resurfaced as he has now authorized agent Jorge Mendes to seek opportunities elsewhere.

Earlier reports indicated Balde was not keen on leaving Barcelona, which could have thwarted United's plans. However, Aston Villa has also shown interest, though their financial constraints may complicate a deal.

Barcelona rejected a €20 million offer from Benfica and is reportedly seeking between €40 million and €45 million for Balde, who has nearly two years remaining on his contract. His absence from Barcelona's squad against Elche raised questions, with manager Hansi Flick stating Balde was not fully ready.
