David Jonsson Cast as T'Challa's Son in Black Panther III

Marvel Studios revealed British actor David Jonsson as the lead for the role of T'Challa's son in Black Panther III at Comic-Con International on Saturday. Jonsson, 32, is the first actor officially cast in the central Black Panther role since Chadwick Boseman's passing in 2020 due to colon cancer.

Director Ryan Coogler, who directed the previous Black Panther films and won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for his film Sinners, announced Jonsson alongside returning cast members Letitia Wright and Winston Duke. Jonsson expressed his emotions during the announcement, keeping his remarks brief.

He is known for his role as Augustus Sackey in the British drama Industry and has appeared in the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King's The Long Walk and the sci-fi horror film Alien: Romulus. The film is scheduled for release in US cinemas on December 15, 2028, with a UK release date yet to be confirmed.

Wright and Duke are confirmed to reprise their roles.
