Nurse Mary Habila Found Dead in Uburu Guest House

Mary Habila, a 26-year-old nurse at the Federal University of Medical Sciences in Uburu, was found dead in a guest house located within the residence of David Umahi, the Minister. The incident occurred on June 27, 2026.

Umahi disclosed that Habila had spoken to her boyfriend the night before her death, complaining of a nosebleed. He described her as a dedicated staff member who had worked at the university for three years.

During the phone conversation, Habila was advised by her boyfriend to notify her supervisor about her condition. After the call, she reportedly expressed a desire to take a bath.

The following morning, her colleagues became concerned when they could not reach her, leading them to force open the door to her room, where she was found dead with the tap running. Umahi emphasized the need for a thorough autopsy to establish the circumstances surrounding Habila's death.
