Mass Resignation Hits NDC in Ebonyi Over Corruption Claims

A significant resignation wave hit the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ebonyi, with state executive committee members quitting due to allegations of corruption and financial fraud. Former deputy chairman Comrade Okei Idenyi criticized the party's structure, claiming it had been hijacked by corrupt politicians, including references to Peter Obi.

He lamented the lack of transparency and accountability within the party, particularly during the recent primaries, which he described as a sham. Idenyi and other members, including Barrister Solomon Chinedu Adum, Mr.

Cyril Ajah, and Mr. Anthony Nwofe, voiced their discontent over the leadership's failure to produce a consensual candidate and the overall integrity of the primary elections.

They accused the party of demanding exorbitant fees for nomination forms and failing to support genuine candidates. The resigning members expressed their desire to dissociate from a party that no longer aligns with their ideals and stated they would not support the NDC in future activities.
