NDC Members Defect to PDP in Ebonyi Ahead of 2027 Elections

In a significant political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections, no fewer than 4,000 members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), including Deputy Chairman Mr. Okechukwu Idenyi and Secretary Bar Solomon Adum, defected to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State.

The formal reception of the defectors took place on Saturday during a political rally in Onicha Local Government Area, led by PDP State Chairman Hon. Chukwuma Igw.

Igw described the defection as a major boost to the PDP's influence in the state, emphasizing that the experience of the new entrants would strengthen the party's structure for the upcoming elections. Adum stated that the decision to join the PDP followed extensive consultations and was driven by confidence in the PDP's vision for democratic governance and sustainable development in the state.

He pledged to work with PDP leadership to expand grassroots support as part of their commitment to promoting peace and democracy.
