PDP Gains 4,000 Defectors in Ebonyi, APC Losing Grip

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, chaired by Hon. Chukwuma Igwe, announced a major political development during a rally held in Isu Community, Onicha Local Government Area.

The rally saw the defection of approximately 4,000 members from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to the PDP, which Igwe described as a significant boost for the party. Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, the PDP governorship candidate, was also present at the event.

Igwe stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is already acting like an opposition party, as the people of Ebonyi are dissatisfied with their governance and are seeking credible alternatives. He assured the new members of equal opportunities within the PDP and urged them to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

Barrister Solomon Chinedu Adum, the party's deputy chairman, emphasized that the decision to join the PDP followed extensive consultations and highlighted the party's viability as a platform for democratic governance and sustainable development.
