MasterChef Nigeria Launches Search for Best Home Cook

MasterChef Nigeria has officially launched a nationwide search for the best home cook, with a staggering prize of N73 million. This initiative, part of the global MasterChef franchise, aims to transform Nigeria's culinary landscape and provide a platform for home cooks to showcase their talents.

The competition is open to Nigerian citizens aged 18 and above who hold a valid passport, with the entry deadline set for February 27, 2026. The show will be broadcast on DStv's Africa Magic, highlighting Nigeria's rich culinary heritage and innovative food culture.

Tamara van Eeckhoven, Managing Director of Primedia Africa, encouraged aspiring cooks to participate, while Kemi Omotosho, Chief Executive Officer of Africa Magic, emphasized the commitment to investing in premium local content. The judging panel, consisting of esteemed Nigerian chefs, will evaluate the contestants' dishes, which will feature traditional and contemporary Nigerian cuisine.

The competition promises to be a significant milestone in Nigerian television.
