MasterChef Nigeria Launches Search for Best Home Cook

MasterChef Nigeria has officially launched a nationwide search for the country's best home cook, with the winner set to receive a staggering prize of 73 million Naira. The competition is part of a local adaptation of the globally recognized MasterChef format, which aims to transform the Nigerian culinary landscape.

Entries are open until February 27, 2026, and participants must be Nigerian citizens aged 18 and above, holding a valid passport. The show will be broadcast on DStv's Africa Magic, showcasing Nigeria's rich culinary heritage through various challenges that highlight traditional and contemporary dishes.

Tamara van Eeckhoven, Managing Director of Primedia Africa, emphasized the opportunity for home cooks to elevate their culinary skills, while Kemi Omotosho, Chief Executive Officer of Africa Magic, noted the commitment to investing in premium local content. The competition will feature esteemed Nigerian chefs as judges, who will evaluate the dishes prepared by contestants throughout the season.
