Teacher Celebrates Student's First Class Result at University

Kefas Gyurison, a Maths and Physics teacher at a tutorial centre, shared on X the success of a former student who achieved a First Class result from the University of Abuja. Gyurison recounted his year of preparing secondary school students for WAEC while earning low wages, driven by his passion for teaching.

He utilized storytelling to engage students and encouraged them to view academics as an investment. Before their JAMB examinations, he challenged his students to achieve a First Class grade point average each semester, promising rewards for their success.

One student fulfilled this challenge, sending him a screenshot of her 100-level results from the Faculty of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences for the 2025/2026 first semester, which showed a GPA of 4.56. Her standout scores included 90 in General Biology I and 85 in both General Biology Practical I and Communication in English.

Gyurison expressed immense satisfaction upon seeing her results, which validated his efforts as an educator.
