PDP Chieftain Claims Enugu Governor Did Not Legitimately Win 2023 Election Amid Defection

Umar Sani, a former spokesman for ex-Vice President Namadi Sambo, has revealed that Peter Mbah did not legitimately win the 2023 Enugu governorship election following his defection to the APC. Sani insists that despite Mbah's switch, the PDP remains strong and unaffected by defections.

Mbah was declared the winner with 160,895 votes, narrowly defeating Chijiok Edeoga of the Labour Party with a margin of just 3,300 votes. Edeoga's camp has rejected the results, alleging electoral fraud and irregularities, particularly in Nkanu East LGA.
