Sunday Igboho's Security Network Surpasses 80,000 Members

Sunday Igboho, also known as Chief Sunday Adeyemo, announced that membership in the Iru Ekun Security Network has exceeded 80,000 volunteers. This initiative aims to address issues of terrorism and kidnapping in the South West region of Nigeria.

Igboho emphasized the need for background checks on members to prevent criminal infiltration. The security outfit has already registered 50,000 personnel and plans to officially launch in Oyo and Osun states, with a subsequent launch in Kwara State scheduled for Thursday.

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq is among the stakeholders supporting this initiative, which seeks to lawfully combat crime, particularly kidnappings and terrorist acts, thereby ensuring peace and safety in rural communities. Igboho expressed optimism about significantly reducing kidnapping incidents through local intelligence tactics and collaboration with the Nigerian Police and military.

The initiative has received backing from various state governors, who have been urged to collectively address security challenges regardless of ethnic, tribal, or religious differences.
