Traditional Rulers Hire Sunday Igboho’s Iru Ekun for Security

In response to ongoing bandit attacks, twenty traditional rulers from Kwara State have hired the private security outfit Iru Ekun, led by Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho. The rulers, particularly from the Kwara South Senatorial District, have been forced to relocate to Ilorin due to the violence affecting their towns and villages.

Although Sunday Igboho himself has not visited the area, his operatives are already active in Isanlu, a neighboring community. Traditional ruler Abdulrahman Fabiyi confirmed the engagement of Iru Ekun, emphasizing the need for security in the region.

The joint security watch, coordinated by elder Olaitan Oyin Zubair, has welcomed this development, highlighting the urgency of rescuing captives, including those abducted from a church in Ikerin. Muyiwa Adeniyi, a representative of Iru Ekun, pledged to operate within legal protocols while collaborating with local security agencies to restore peace in the area.
