Mercy Obasi's Journey from Banking to Event Planning

Mercy Obasi, the founder of Cloud 9, left her careers in banking and aviation to pursue event planning, seeking fulfillment and independence. She began organizing children's parties six years ago during the COVID-19 pandemic, inspired by her love for working with kids.

After giving birth to her last child, she trained in Lagos, focusing on details and event execution. Obasi emphasized the importance of handling various aspects of events, from catering to decor, and has successfully managed events like 80th and 70th birthday celebrations.

She graduated from the University of Benin with a degree in banking and finance and later obtained an MBA from the University of Lagos in 2015. Obasi noted the challenges of entrepreneurship, including staffing issues and the need for a reliable team.

She highlighted the balance between her business and family life, noting that event planning allows her to spend time with her family, especially on weekends.
