Military Airstrikes Target ISWAP Convoy in Borno State

On June 6, military airstrikes commenced in Borno State, targeting a convoy of suspected fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). Intelligence surveillance reconnaissance detected 12 vehicles concealed near Cross Kauwa, leading to a precise attack that destroyed four vehicles and dispersed insurgents.

Following the initial strike, military sources reported that five fighters were killed, while three escaped. Additional strikes targeted insurgents attempting to regroup approximately 250 meters south of the initial strike location, resulting in the deaths of four more individuals and the destruction of another vehicle.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist activities and degrade ISWAP's logistical and mobility networks in northeastern Nigeria.
