James Milner Sets New Premier League Appearance Record

On Saturday afternoon, James Milner, a 40-year-old former England midfielder, broke the Premier League appearance record during Brighton & Hove Albion's game against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium. Milner's 654th match surpassed the previous record held by Gareth Barry.

He equaled Barry's record while playing for Aston Villa from 2008 to 2010. Brighton's manager, Fabian Hurzel, expressed his admiration for Milner, highlighting him as a role model both on and off the pitch.

Milner made his Premier League debut at the age of 16 with Leeds United in 2002 and has played for notable clubs including Newcastle, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Brighton. Hurzel noted Milner's great discipline and effort, emphasizing that this achievement is a testament to hard work throughout his career.

Wayne Rooney, who has played 37 times for England, also acknowledged Milner's deserving nature of breaking the record.
