Minister Urges Public-Private Partnerships for Development

Dr. Dori Uzoka Anit, the Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, advocated for sustained public-private partnerships to enhance Nigeria's national development.

This statement was made during a meeting with a delegation from the African Union's Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), led by Chief Executive Officer Hon. Jibrin Salisu Abdullahi.

Dr. Anit underscored the necessity of aligning policies and sharing knowledge to advance Nigeria's development agenda.

She highlighted ongoing efforts to develop a new national development plan that will succeed the current framework expiring in 2020, focusing on measurable outcomes and coherent policies to accelerate economic growth. The Minister stressed that achieving a modern and resilient economy requires a robust alignment of plans, implementation, and monitoring systems.

Hon. Abdullahi commended the Ministry's leadership and reaffirmed AUDA-NEPAD's commitment to supporting Nigeria's development efforts.

Dr. Deborah Odoh, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, expressed appreciation for the visit and emphasized the Ministry's central role in coordinating national development plans aligned with broader frameworks like Agenda 2063.
