Northern Coalition Defends Minister Musa's Comments

A coalition of northern civic groups, including Citizens Support for Good Governance (CSGG) and Arewa Concerned Citizens Forum (ACCF), defended Minister of Defence General Christopher Gwabin Musa (retd.) against allegations of political misrepresentation following his interview on Channels Television. The coalition, represented by Dr Olumide Olayinka Adeosun and Comrade Hamis Danbaba Malumfashi, emphasized that Musa's decades of military service and commitment to national unity should be the basis for judgment rather than narrow interpretations of his comments.

During the interview, Musa criticized the administration of former Kaduna State Governor Malam Nasir El-Rufai, suggesting that certain policies contributed to societal division, while praising the current governor, Senator Uba Sani, for promoting reconciliation. The coalition cautioned against viewing Musa's remarks as a personal attack on El-Rufai and urged for a thorough examination of the evidence supporting Musa's claims, which referenced publicly available materials from El-Rufai's own discussions on security policies.
