Minna Polo Club Re-elects Bago and Babangida Leaders

On September 2, 2022, the Minna Polo Club held its annual general meeting where members unanimously re-elected Mohammad Umaru Bago as president and Mohammad Babangida as first vice president. The newly constituted executive committee reflects the confidence of the club's members in the duo's vision to elevate polo as a prominent sport in Minna.

The meeting, held at the IBB Sports Complex, also saw the election of Daniel Shasher as second vice president, Jamilu King retaining his role as polo captain, and Ahm Salisu returning as honorary secretary. Princ Aminu Bahago continues as treasurer, while Abubakar Sadiq Wushishi joins the management team as tournament manager.

The new executive committee, which includes members like Mukhtar Hassan and Gen M Garba, aims to leverage polo as a driver for tourism and economic activity in Niger State. Governor Bago reiterated the administration's commitment to using sports as a strategic tool to attract investors and promote cultural understanding.
