Georg Moghalu Resigns from Labour Party After Anambra Governorship Election Bid

Dr. Georg Moghalu, who contested as the Labour Party's candidate in the November 2025 Anambra State governorship election, has officially resigned from the party.

In a letter dated January 26, 2026, Moghalu conveyed his decision to resign from the party to the chairman of the Labour Party ward in Uruagu Nnewi, Anambra State. He expressed gratitude to the party at all levels for providing him with a platform to contest in the off-cycle governorship election.

The resignation, effective immediately, was conveyed in a courteous and appreciative tone, acknowledging the support he received from party leaders and members during his campaign. Moghalu thanked the party for the opportunity to participate in the last governorship election in the state and extended his best wishes to the party and his family.

This move follows his rejection of the election results on November 8, 2025.
