Urgent Call for Completion of Bayelsa Stadium Projects

Ebi Egb, the CEO of Monimichelle, called for the completion of the Bayelsa Stadium projects before the end of Governor Douye Diri's administration. He highlighted that the state has invested 100 billion naira in the stadium, which has a capacity of 30,000, and stressed the need for completion to avoid it becoming a "white elephant" project.

Egb expressed concerns that future administrations might deprioritize sports infrastructure, potentially leading to the abandonment of the stadium. He urged Bayelsans to support the completion of the project, which he believes will create a lasting legacy and benefit future generations.

Egb criticized the current state of football facilities in Bayelsa, noting that few meet the standards set by CAF. He pointed out that the ongoing celebration of substandard facilities does not reflect the quality required for hosting major competitions.

Egb concluded by emphasizing that the true legacy of a stadium is not just its architectural beauty but its ability to host top-level football and develop local talent.
