Mother and Two Children Die in Kaduna Building Collapse

On Friday morning at approximately 3:30 am, a tragic building collapse occurred in the Kwanar Mai Dabino area of Rigasa, Kaduna, resulting in the deaths of a mother, Takiyatu, aged 35, and her two children, Salisu, aged five, and Muhammad, who was three months old. Abubakar Abba Haruna, the husband of Takiyatu, was not at home during the incident as he was at his other wife's residence.

He learned of the collapse from his eldest daughter, who informed him that their mother and siblings were trapped. Upon arriving at the scene, he found that neighbors had already attempted to rescue the victims, but unfortunately, they were pronounced dead upon being retrieved from the rubble.

Sani Ayuba, the community leader, confirmed that a fence from a neighboring structure under construction collapsed into their home, trapping the family. He expressed the community's sorrow and stated that security agencies had been notified of the incident.
