Two Women Die in Kano Building Collapse at Midnight

In the early hours of approximately 2:00 am, a residential building collapsed in the Goron Dutse community of Kano, resulting in the deaths of two young women from the same household. One victim was a 20-year-old woman who was preparing for her upcoming wedding.

Eyewitnesses reported that the sudden collapse startled residents, prompting immediate rescue efforts using bare hands and simple tools to remove debris in hopes of saving those trapped. Tragically, the rescue operation concluded with the recovery of both women deceased.

Neighbors described one victim as gentle and cheerful, expressing their shock and grief over the incident. By Thursday morning, mourners had gathered at the victims' family home, where sorrow replaced what was expected to be a celebratory period.
