MTN Nigeria Launches 2026 mPulse Spelling Bee Competition

MTN Nigeria has commenced the 8th edition of the MTN mPulse Spelling Bee, inviting primary and secondary school students aged nine to 15 to participate in one of Nigeria's largest literacy competitions. The competition will run from July 20 to November 28, featuring nationwide digital participation and regional physical contests in Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Abeokuta.

The top 3,000 students will qualify for the regional stage, with 20 finalists competing in a grand finale in Lagos for prizes worth up to ₦40 million, including scholarships, cash prizes, ICT devices, and the opportunity to serve as ‘MTN CEO for a Day’. Onyinye Ikenna-Emeka, Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Nigeria, stated that the competition aims to create opportunities for children to learn and compete.

The initiative also rewards schools and teachers, with top schools eligible for prizes of up to ₦1 million. The competition has evolved to inspire learning and nurture talent across communities nationwide.
