Portable Claims Rigged Fight Against Carter Efe in Lagos

Nigerian singer Portable, whose real name is Habeeb Badmus, has accused the organizers of his recent boxing match against Carter Efe of rigging the fight. He claims that the bout, held in Lagos, was stopped unfairly, which led to his defeat by unanimous decision with judges scoring the contest 27-30 in favor of Efe.

Portable insists that he was cheated out of victory, alleging that financial interests influenced the outcome. He has demanded payment from the event organizers, citing concerns over the revenue generated from the fight.

Following the bout, Dr. Arinz Onwumelu, a Canada-based Nigerian doctor, advised Portable to undergo a brain scan due to potential injuries from punches delivered during the match. Dr. Onwumelu, known as Dr. Zo, emphasized the need for better safety standards in celebrity boxing events, suggesting that headguards should be mandatory.

Portable's defeat ended his unbeaten streak in celebrity boxing, and he continues to assert that the fight was unfairly decided.
