Labour Party Unveils Cost-Effective Strategy for 2027

The Labour Party (LP) is preparing a cost-effective campaign strategy for the upcoming 2027 presidential election, which it describes as conservative yet "more lethal and far-reaching." Mr. Ken Asogwa, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, announced that the strategy is in response to the Electoral Act 2026, which has increased the maximum campaign expenditure for presidential candidates to N10 billion. Asogwa stated that the campaign model will be revealed alongside the presidential campaign council, which is currently being finalized.

The new spending limits represent a significant increase from the previous Electoral Act 2022. Political parties are intensifying their preparations for the elections, with only about five months remaining until the January 2027 polls.

Asogwa urged party members and supporters to be patient as the selection process for the campaign council is ongoing.
