NADF Launches Digital Training for 1,884 Extension Workers

The Nigerian Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) commenced a nationwide capacity-building program aimed at training 1,884 agricultural extension personnel, focusing on food security specialists and digital extension corps. The initiative, which started on Monday in Lafia, Nasarawa State, marks the first phase of the program, with subsequent training planned across the remaining five geopolitical zones in Nigeria.

The program is designed to strengthen extension services and enhance food security by equipping personnel with the necessary digital skills and modern agricultural knowledge. Participants will receive digital tablets preloaded with approved curriculum and resources to improve knowledge dissemination in the field.

The training includes practical classroom sessions facilitated by agricultural extension experts covering topics such as digital extension services, climate-smart agriculture, and data management. The training in Lafia is expected to conclude on Thursday, with plans for NADF to expand the digital extension corps initiative nationwide.
