NAF Enhances Operations Against Extremists in North-West

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has pledged to prevent terrorists, bandits, and other hostile elements from threatening vulnerable communities in the North-West. This commitment follows intensified joint operations against security threats, including a recent airstrike under the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, which resulted in the deaths of over 26 terrorist fighters in Borno State.

Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, the Chief of the Air Staff, stated that the NAF will optimize air power to support ongoing operations, focusing on maintaining operational readiness and civilian safety. The initiative aligns with the CAS’s Command Philosophy, emphasizing a motivated and mission-ready force capable of delivering decisive air power.

The NAF aims to enhance aerial surveillance and rapid response capabilities, particularly against asymmetric threats, leveraging air power's reach and precision to disrupt hostile activities and deny freedom of movement to criminals.
