NAF Intensifies Air Operations Against Terrorism in Sokoto

On Sunday, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) announced an escalation of its airpower campaign targeting terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities in the North-West region, with a specific focus on Sokoto State. A statement from NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame highlighted the initiative's goal to sustain pressure on hostile elements, improve aerial surveillance, and ensure rapid response to emerging threats.

The NAF aims to leverage its airpower's reach, speed, flexibility, and precision to locate and disrupt terrorist activities, thereby enhancing operational opportunities for ground forces. Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, emphasized the importance of timely intelligence and seamless integration with surface forces to maintain operational readiness.

He reiterated the NAF's commitment to denying criminal elements the freedom to threaten communities while ensuring civilian safety during operations.
