NAF Escalates Air Campaign Against Terrorists, Bandits in North-West

Nigeria's Air Force has ramped up operations in the North-West, with particular emphasis on Sokoto State where joint security forces are active against militant organizations. The campaign targets terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and criminal syndicates throughout the zone.

According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF's spokesperson, this intensification demonstrates the service's resolve to keep adversarial forces under continuous strain, broaden monitoring abilities and sustain swift-response readiness for unexpected developments. Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, who heads the Air Staff, highlighted how crucial joint intelligence and airpower coordination are for managing North-West insecurity in areas populated by civilians.

Ground operations receive coordinated backing from strengthened air coverage in Sokoto. Through expanded aerial reconnaissance and persistent tactical readiness, the Air Force works to restrict militant groups' capacity for unimpeded activity across the territory.

This buildup accompanies ongoing counterinsurgency work in Nigeria's North-East via Operation Hadin Kai, during which Air Force assets have launched guided munitions strikes on militant strongholds. Both operational theaters underscore the multifaceted nature of irregular warfare confronting Nigeria's defense forces.

Military leadership noted the stepped-up air campaign will enhance how quickly security agencies can react to danger in their zones. The Air Force's upgraded position throughout Sokoto forms component of an integrated approach meant to curtail the mobility and freedom of action terrorists and bandits have previously enjoyed in remote North-West terrain.
