NAFDAC Warns Against Unregistered Menofix Capsules

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a nationwide public alert regarding the unregistered menopause supplement Menofix Capsules, marketed by PureEve as a hormone-free herbal and multivitamin supplement for women experiencing perimenopause and menopause. NAFDAC warned Nigerians against purchasing or using the product, which is being removed from the market.

The agency confirmed that Menofix Capsules has never been registered with NAFDAC and is therefore unauthorized for sale, distribution, or use in Nigeria. This alert follows a complaint about the product and reports of possible liver-related adverse effects linked to some of its ingredients.

NAFDAC has instructed its zonal directors and state coordinators to enhance surveillance and remove the unregistered product from circulation. Consumers are advised to discontinue use and submit any remaining stock to NAFDAC offices.
