NAqF Selects 35 Coaches for IOC Swimming Course in Lagos

The Nigeria Aquatics Federation (NAqF) has chosen 35 leading swimming coaches from across Nigeria to participate in the IOC Solidarity Swimming Coaches Course, set to take place from September 15 to 20, 2026, in Lagos. This capacity-building program is organized through the International Olympic Committee's Olympic Solidarity initiative, in collaboration with the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC) and NAqF.

The course aims to strengthen the coaching structure and address gaps in swimming development in Nigeria. It is aligned with the National Sports Commission's development-focused vision and the NAqF's strategic direction, emphasizing capacity development and youth progression.

NAqF President Lekan Fatodu has stressed the importance of investing in coaching as vital for long-term development. The selected coaches include 12 females and 23 males, and the Federation anticipates that the knowledge gained will enhance the overall coaching community, improving the athlete development pathway for Nigerian swimmers.
