Sule Signs Over 8,000 Certificates of Occupancy in 7 Years

Abdullahi Sule, the Governor of Nasarawa State, disclosed that he has signed over 8,000 certificates of occupancy (C of O) during his tenure, which began in 2019. This figure is notably higher than the combined total of 3,254 signed by his predecessor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, over eight years, and just 24 by former Governor Aliyu Akwanga Doma within four years.

Sule made this announcement during a monthly briefing with journalists in Lafia, highlighting the need for landowners to properly address ground rent issues. He warned that any individual defaulting on ground rent payments would face revocation of their certificates.

The governor also encouraged landowners to apply for certificates, assuring that the process would not exceed two months once the application fee is paid. He stated that the state government is committed to resolving land-related issues and facilitating access to financial institutions for investors.
