Wike Signs 26,272 C-of-Os, Breaking 13-Year Record

Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, has signed 26,272 Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-O) since President Bola Tinubu took office in May 2023. This figure exceeds the total of 8,697 C-of-Os signed between 2010 and 2023 by 17,575.

The achievement aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu's administration and aims to facilitate business operations in the FCT. Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communications and Social Media, stated that many beneficiaries had been waiting for their land allocations for over a decade.

The streamlined process now allows land allottees to receive their C-of-O within two weeks after necessary payments, aided by an automated notification system. Additionally, the FCT Administration granted 2,521 Consents to Assign and 177 Consents to Mortgage during the first three years of Tinubu's administration, compared to lower figures under previous administrations.
