NASENI Empowers 120 Kogi Youths with Electrical Skills

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has successfully trained 120 youths in Lokoja, Kogi State, in electrical installation and maintenance. Each participant received starter packs and ₦50,000 to assist in their transition into employment and entrepreneurship.
This training was part of the NASENI Skill Acquisition Training and Youth Empowerment Programme (SATYE), aimed at equipping young individuals with practical skills to meet the increasing demand for electrical services in Nigeria's building and construction industry. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, NASENI's Executive Vice Chairman, represented by Ibrahim Baba Dauda, the Acting Coordinating Director of Finance and Accounts, stated that the program is designed to convert practical skills into livelihoods and economic independence.
The initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on expanding economic opportunities and strengthening human capital. The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi IV, praised NASENI for its efforts in enhancing the skills of local youth.
