Nathaniel Idowu Foundation Launches 'Let Her Play' Initiative Empowering Girls Through Football Program

The Nathaniel Idowu Foundation has introduced the 'Let Her Play' initiative, collaborating with the Ajeromi Ifelodun Sport Council to empower girls through a 10-week football program. The program kicked off on February 7, 2026, at the prestigious New Maracana Stadium in Tolu Ajegunle.

Qualified and certified female coaches are guiding the girls, with parents like Adekunle Raymond praising the initiative for helping girls chart a career path towards a better life. McAnthony Anaelechukwu, the Director-General of the Ajeromi Ifelodun Sport Council, expressed delight at the turnout and reaffirmed the council's commitment to the cause.

The partnership between the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation and the sport council aims to change the narrative concerning the limited opportunities available for girls to develop careers in athletics and football.
