Ameh Calls National Assembly a "Prison" for Nigerians

Peter Ameh, the former chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), issued a statement on Wednesday condemning the actions of the All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding the controversial Electoral Act amendment debate. Ameh accused the APC of unleashing "savage tyranny" on the National Assembly, which he described as having turned into a "prison" for the people.

He noted that the APC's actions reflect a fear of credible and transparent elections, leading to frustration within Nigeria's electoral process and democracy. Ameh emphasized that tyranny has no place in Nigeria's political landscape and warned that the APC's attempts to manipulate the electoral process would be met with resistance from the populace.

He expressed confidence that the Nigerian people would decisively defeat the APC in the upcoming 2027 elections, asserting that a vast majority of Nigerians reject the ruling party's actions.
